Sometimes at the end of the day, I really despise cooking. I’m sure you feel the same too. The reason being, cooking doesn’t just mean enjoying a good meal, it means the preparations like seasoning, marinating, and cooking your food. Then you have to clean up all the pots and pans after your meal. Sous vide can help remedy some of that. This Sansaire Sous Vide Machine review will look at the sous vide circulator made by Sansaire, and discuss what makes it good, what makes it bad, and if it’s worth buying.
Set it and Leave
This immersion circulator device requires you to have the water at a certain level to perform. The device has markings indicating the water level and a safety function that shuts off the device if there is not enough water in the container in order for the device to function. This allows you to leave the house with device running, and not have to worry about the house burning down. The immersion circulator keeps the water at a specified temperature so that it cooks the food slowly and doesn’t overcook your food. Dinner is ready when you are.
Easy to Store
The Sansaire Sous Vide takes up as much space as a champagne bottle, which really appealed to me. It is a little bulkier than some of the other immersion devices that you can get, but it really doesn’t take up much space at all. A deep drawer stores this device easily.
Don’t Have to Buy Extra Equipment
I really like that it isn’t required that you also buy their bulky, expensive containers to cook your foods in as well. You can just as easily attach it to a cooler or a bucket or other similar container that you more than likely already have in your house. You can even use your pots and pans.
Super Easy to Clean up
I think the greatest thing about the Sansaire sous vide circulator is it makes clean up a breeze. All of the mess is contained in bags. Yes, it’s very wasteful, but you save so much in other areas, especially time. While it may take 1-3 hours to cook your food, you are really only required to be in the kitchen for about fifteen minutes preparing.
Lots of Meal Options
Since you are using the bags to cook your food, you can experiment with different seasonings and recipes. This is great if you are cooking a meal for a wide variety of tastes and it does it without dirtying every pot and pan in your kitchen in order to make four different things. Instead, plop your food into four different bags, season them different ways, and then cook them all at once, and toss the bag as soon as you are done.
You can also cook a lot of other things with this Sansaire including:
- red meat
- chicken
- fish
- vegetables
- pudding
- muffins
- cheesecake
- and many more
As long as you are cooking items that can be cooked at the same temperature, you can add different bags with different things.
Could be Better With Additional Features
The Sainsaire features an always on LED that allows you to check your temperature easily and offers a digital reading of the temperature. The dial feels a little cheap, but works well. I dislike that it doesn’t have any sort of indicator that tells you when the water is up to temperature which forces you to keep checking to see if it has heated up. A lack of such a feature is a little inconvenient, but since the water heats up fairly fast, it’s not a deal breaker for me. I also wish it had a built-in timer and alarm, but again, it’s not a deal breaker. You can just set a timer on your phone.
There is also no wireless connectivity (which is becoming common with many sous vide circulators these days). With no wireless connectivity, that means there is no app and no using/controlling with your smart phone. While these features are not necessary, they can provide convenience for some people. If you’d really like these features, consider something like the Anova, or the Joule instead.
Could be Sturdier
The device is durable, but wouldn’t withstand a fall. As with any electronic device, you should make sure to handle it with care. The casing is made of plastic, so you cannot expect the product to withstand much. It’s a hard, and probably durable plastic, but it’s still plastic nonetheless. Of course, for the price, you can’t expect the same quality as something top of the line like the Polyscience.
Buy it?
This sous vide circulator will forever change the way you cook. It makes cooking less of a daunting task and leaves you with more time to spend in the company of family rather than slaving in the kitchen; first cooking and then cleaning. That reason alone is enough to buy this.
Overall, I would rate this product a 7 out of 10. It’s one of the most affordable, yet still highly rated immersion circulator on Amazon, and it is well worth the money. It doesn’t have any fancy features like Wi-Fi, but it does the basics very well. If you don’t need the fancy features, something basic like this Sansaire sous vide machine is all you need to buy. I hope this review was able to help you decide. After your buy it, and give it a try, please come back here and share your experience with us. Don’t forget to check prices on Amazon before you buy it.
